Steering box output shaft threads HELP!
The threads on a steering box output shaft were damaged when the box was dropped. What size thread chaser do I need to correct the threads? Any help will be appreciated. Any ideas how to correct the threads?

Since it is off the truck, I would just take it to a machine shop near you and have them do it. They have what it takes and bet you will get it done for under $20. I think that would be worth it to know it wont get messed up any further.

For $20 go to Napa and get a "thread file". It has 8 different thread pitches that it will clean up. Is handy as all get out. Hardest part is keeping it in your toolbox.
