7 years in the making 69 GMC LB SS 4x4

I posted the big block pics for this a year or so ago. Finally got it done. I will have it in it's second car show this weekend in Airway Hieghts Wa. I have had good response from the color (Medium Malichite 98GM) ,the red oak bedwood (finished in clear SPAR Marine varnish) with no carriage bolts coming through, and the rear gas tank with the 1949 nChevy sedan gas door in the right rear fender. Of course everone loves the big block. Hope you all like it. It came out Sweet. A very rare 3/4 ton 4X4.

Steve

Looks Great. How did you avoid the carriage bolts?
What does the interior look like?

Big block, lwb, stepside and a GMC to boot. That's not your average truck! That's the best looking lwb stepside I have ever seen.

Beautiful truck! That color is looks great. Probably even better in person. I like those rims and tires too. What are they? I am looking for an 8 lug set up for my '70 3/4 ton 4x4.

thanks

Thanks everyone, I like it too, I am selling my other truck and definately keeping this one.

The cross supports on the bed are the original ones. I just slipped bolts into the bottom mounting holes and welded them from the the bottom (Threads side). That made the cross supports with Make shift studs, if you will. They just bolt on/off as needed.

I got those wheels by chance, in a parking lot where a guy just had them in the back of his truck and I waited for him to come out of the store. Asked, and they were for sale. I don't know the Manufacturer of the wheels?? Sorry The tires are Les Schaub 35 TRX's.

Later

That's a cool local truck Steve...

Wow! Another Spokane Big Block!!!
Where is the car show in Airway Heights? Is it Saturday or Sunday?
I'm installing new carpet, seat covers and stereo this weekend but I'll find the time to come see your truck 'cause I don't want to miss getting a look at it.
BTW, that color looks really good on it...can't wait to see it in person.
Chris

Car show

The Redline Renegades are having the 4th annual show at the Northern quest Casino on Hayford Road at 10:00 - 4:00 on Sat the 23rd of July.

My wheels, I used some stuff I got from my bodyman. I think PPG might make it. It is like acid for Aluminum.. I know the stuff we use on steel is called Rust-Mort. It is like a two step process? I used 00000 Steelwool and compound after that. .......alot of work.

Wow, Sere. That is so so sweet. We must have started at the same time... my resto is going on seven years too!

Those wheels look like Ansens to me. I have looked for a 6-lug set for many years w/ no luck. Found a few of the 8-lugs. Definitely the nicest look on these trucks in my opinion.

Very nice job. Congrats!
