Old Truck is back on the lot

Well, I believe it's been 3 1/2 or 4 months, and my old white 86' is back on car lot. You can see it here for those of you who don't know what truck I'm talking about. I'd have to say the only thing I still like about the truck are my wheels....I'm gonna watch it and if they switch the wheels, I'll probably pick them up. The dent in the door got fixed and the seat was finally redone (I already had the material when I traded it), so there are a few points on the truck that are better. Now that I've seen it again after 4 months I'd have to say I think I made the right choice trading and my old truck is just okay, I guess they're never the same after you sell them.

I can't remember, but what didn't you like about your old truck?

SWB...I just didn't like it...I like 80's and earlier frontends on stepsides better, and my current truck has lower miles (68k compared to 112k), and there was just too many little things about the truck that I didn't like. The paint was average, the bed needed redone, etc, etc....the list would just go on. It's a nice daily driver but that was aobut it. And looking at the truck now, being able to buy it again if I wanted to, there just isn't anything that would make me jump fo my wallet.

Seems like an awful lot of money for what you described? Glad you got a good deal with the trade though.
I personally am too jaded about the rust issues with 70's trucks so I'll take an 80's truck any day.
Not knocking your truck at all as from how you've desribed it and the pictures you've posted of it, it looks like a sweet truck and probably worth the money spent on it.

At least the asking price went down to $8995. I think they were asking nearly near $11K a while back?

No, the white ones price on the lot when I had it was $7,500 and my brown one when it was on the lot was around $11,000

The truck was dropped 4" all the way around, when I got it it was only dropped 2" and it was higher on one side than the other....so I put drop coils in it and a rear shackle/hangar kit. That is what the drop was on the white one....as for the brown one, I think its like a 5/6 or something. Not quite sure because the used a-arms and coils in front and extended shackles and hangers out back or so it looks, the brown one certainly rides a lot better though (even with everything on the front end being 3" off the ground).

Kevinr1970 - Yes the list 4 the white truck went on for a while but, when all was said and done I would of had about $13,000 in it to have it almost as nice as the brown one, and fortunately I have no where near $13 in the brown one. SO I think I made out good. I'm ording some stuff for the brown one this week (new front bumper, spindles, polished strips for the bed and was thinking about converting the air over to R134)

Boog- I've had a few ppl come up and say that to me. One of my dads friends bought a 77' Stepside in Cordova brown, chomed the bumper brackets the tail light housings, lowered it and put 50's series tires on it with some 15" polished wheels. I was actually talking to him yesterday and he said the only differences between the two were his interior was tan and he had a 454 in his ...that and my friends dad had a 78' stepside cordova brown stepper lowered with coke bottles on it (didn't much more than that outta his dad) but I got to see pics and it did look fairly similar.

Yeah i gotta agree, the white truck was fine, but the truck you have now is FIIIIINE!

And i too like 80 and before front ends. The narrower, more "aerodynamic" newer front-ends don't look mean enough, AKA, not like a truck

I like big honkin' sqaured off-ness

BB I think the wheels are what made that truck classy looking. I had a brown 78 step that looked an awful lot like yours too.

That's a pretty nice truck. Just 2 things I would change...

(1) Make it fleetside
(2) Slight lift

Otherwise, that clean white look is killer - - I can only dream for now.
