they're for a SWB but I don't know the year.

List Price is $155.00

I just want to get em out of my garage so....I'll sell em for $30 (case of good beer) if you pick em up. I really don't want to ship these but may for the right price. Say..........$75.00

Ian

Depends on how you advertise them. If you advertise them and say you won't ship, local pickup only, then fine. If you don't list any shipping restrictions then you should honor the guys who logged in first. Most of the time, with paypal, you can have your money in your account in less than an hour. Thats how I operate and how I think/hope others operate with me. JMHO...........Jerry

If you wanted local pickup only, you shouldn't offer to ship.

Just my $.02

Gosh. Gee.

67c10step,

I'm so sorry I've done you such an injustice. How can I make it up to you? Should I send you some money or something?

In the future, I'll be sure to lay everything out so you don't have to read between the lines. Instead of saying "I really don't want to ship these"

I'll say. I DON"T WANT TO SHIP THESE BUT IF SOMEONE LOCAL DOESN"T BUY THEM I WILL.

Better?
Ian

Oh....forgot to say...... "just my $.02" .

Not being a prick, but we had also pm'ed back and forth about possibly meeting local and working out a deal. You shouldn't break out the 5 year old's attitude on guys who were simply following YOUR lead. You either WILL ship parts or you WON"T. You said you'd ship them for $75, when you should have said Local Pickup ONLY- No Shipping!!!!

Sorry Bamn but I think you are being a prick.

It's a $30 deal not a $3,000 deal. I should have just ended the post like this .......................................

SOLD!

Thanks for the interest.
Ian

I think that would have taken care of it.

Oh yeah I should add that Ridgeback is going to pick them up at my house. Bamn needed to meet near DC.

Cheers!

It's friday and I'm still at work.

Since I was 4th in line, I should open my pie hole & be a PITA too. There is a standard protocol for selling on the boards found at the top of the forums in the announcement section. Here is the link if you decide you want to look at it:
http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/a...nouncementid=8

This pertains directly to your ad...
VIII. Please include your preferred method of shipping within the ad, and who is responsible for the shipping costs. If the item is pickup only, please make that clear within the ad.

Your ad CLEARLY states that you would sell them for $75 SHIPPED or $30 PICK UP.

There is also an unwritten(sorta, there is a thread floatin' around about it) code of conduct for selling/buying on the board. This code of conduct is simply this: FIRST COME, FIRST SERVED. This eliminates hard feelings and keeps people from stepping on others toes(hint,hint...)

You posted the ad at 10:29 AM.
67c10step replied stating PM was sent @ 10:58 AM(29 minutes from your post)
Bamn 24 replied @ 11:02 AM
Ridgeback replied @ 12:58 PM (2hrs, 29 minutes later)
I replied @ 2:31 PM

67c10step gets first crack. If he can't drive from Michigan to pick it up, I assume that he was willing to pay the $75 you asked for.
Bamn 24 was second and although he wanted to meet in DC, I'm sure some sort of arrangement would have been made to make it worth your time.
Ridgeback is local so that's a given as to why you went with him but please refer back to the code of conduct...
Myself, I would have gladly given you $75 for the lines.

Speaking only for myself, you lost a future customer here because of your complete lack of respect for your fellow boardmembers and the very childish attitude in dealing with the situation. You could have handled it much better than you did. These guys have a right to be tweaked as I'm sure you would be if the same thing were done to you. With that being said, I wish you the very best of luck and hope that you learned something from this that will make us all feel a little more comfortable here.

Sincerly,
Joe King (bagged91)

I'm so so sorry. I didn't realize brake lines were such a hard item to find.

I'll do my best to uphold the standards of this noble community we call a truck parts forum. I should have sat down and studied the guide lines. This is all clearly my falt and as you said, I guess I did loose a future cutomer but it doesn't matter becuase I'm heading out to throw myself on a sword.

I have failed you forum, I have faild you.

Ian,

Grow up. The value of the item has nothing to do with it. It's about courtesy and respect, nothing more

You don't get it. It's never been all about the parts. You admit you screwed up the wording when you advertised them:
Quote:
In the future, I'll be sure to lay everything out so you don't have to read between the lines. Instead of saying "I really don't want to ship these"
Yet you act like a rude obnoxious 5 year old when someone brings it to your attention. No one here has been rude or hateful to you in any way, yet you continue to hand out double servings of sarcasm and bashing others. It would be easy for this to be dragged into a mouthy name calling match, but (I'm happy to say) you're the only one that has chosen to take the low road. Save the sarcasm and rudeness for the ricer boards, we here are adults and have given you no reason to continue to have such an obnoxious attitude. ..............Jerry

he he he he, this is great.

Get a freakin life guys! Complaining about a $30 purchase that didn't go in your favor is childish. I'm just making fun of the situation and that fact that grown men can't just "get over it".

Quoting a standard of conduct for the board is just too much. The only one risking anything here is me. You have not put a single dollar on the line. They're my brake lines. I'll sell them to whom I wish.

NOW GET OUT OF MY STORE!

Let me know if anybody needs another serving.
