Another Wheel/Tire Combo Question
I previously posted for 17" Torqu Thrust combinations on our trucks. I'm still working on lowering my truck (81 Long Box) and won't be ordering the wheels and tires for a while yet.
I have two potential combinations: The first is 17X8's with 255/50/17 Tires. The second is 17X8's with 255/45/17 on the front and 17X9.5 with 275 or 285 /40/17 on the rear. Does anyone know if this combo will fit without any issues or has anyone ever ran this combo? Here's a picture of the tires from ebay. |

255/45/17" and 285/40/17" sound a little short, perhaps 255/55/17 and 275/50/17 woudl work a little better

255/50 works pretty well, I had 255/50 front and 275/50 rear on my blazer at one time. We just installed the same set up (sizes) on a truck that we built for a customer. It is a nice looking combo. I would stay away from the 255/45 it may be a little short.

the width your talking about is fine. the thing that makes wheels fit or not is the backspacing.
