Source for HD Radiator Support Brackets/Rubber Cushions?
I'm in the process of replacing my three-core stock radiator with an aftermarket four-core ("heavy duty") Modine. I'm looking to buy a set of the wider support brackets (top and bottom) and rubber cushions, since the core support is now about 3/4 inch wider than what I had. Can anyone recommend a source that they've used?
As an alternative, has anyone modified the standard brackets to fit the wider rubber cushions? I'm thinking this may be another way to go, if I can avoid removing the bottom radiator support cross-member to get at the lower brackets. ...Scott Last edited by ScottJ; 07-23-2005 at 12:13 AM. |

Thanks for the info. One of the problems I'm running into is that each place I check has some quirks in their online descriptions. For instance, Wes' site indicates that the retainers are for four core radiators, but when it comes to the pads only refers to "bottom" pads. (I thought the pads were the same, top and bottom, but without seeing pictures can't be sure that something isn't different between the top and bottom retainers...) If someone has figured this out and successfully mounted a four core radiator with aftermarket mountings, please let me know what you ordered and where you got them from.
Also, if someone has managed to "tweak" three core brakets to work with a four core radiator, let me know how you did it. In looking at the bracket, I can't see how I can modify the bracket without screwing up the mounting clip for the fan shroud. ...Scott |

I bought all my 4 core rubbers from GM dealer.
The steel retainers for the rubbers, I buy off the parts board on this site usually.

The upper and lower pads are the same. I have used many of them. The only differences are you have 2/3 row pads and 4 row pads. I spend countless hours creating our online catolog. Every once and a while the discriptions can be confusing. I incourage anyone who is confused by them to contact us toll free 888-338-2502 for clarification. WES www.ClassicHeartbeat.com
