Coolant recovery tank
I have been using an empty Prestone jug stuffed in the opening by the battery as my overflow for too long now. I would really like a mounted see-thru bottle instead. Who has a solution? Thanks.

You can purchase a univeral tank at O'Reilly's for around $10.00. I just bought one. Looks like it will have to be installed on the driver's side of the radiator.

i fabbed my own out of a car . i welded some sheet metal onto the battery tray
about 8 inch's X 10 i think it was. the size of the jug anyway and it looks pretty good and best of coarse is that the hose reaches better. i have to get a pic of that it looks like a stock piece. now i remember it was an windshield washer bottle Last edited by pickemup; 07-23-2005 at 03:14 PM. |

here are some options I have been considering.
Simple if you can get the caps. gmparts direct has them but you have to buy 5 at a time. http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/...d.php3?t=163396 Here are three different I have in my garage. Chickenwing knows what the larger one is. more to come...

excuse the crummy looking engine area. The larger one does not sit perfect to inner fender well and should be spaced (but not much) on the two lower anchor points. Hope this helps.

Keep it simple...
IMO nothing looks better or fits better than the matching WS bottle on LH side and same bottle, in same location, on the RH side. You need that GM cap that is getting hard to find. Check your local GM dealer for #340194. GM parts direct does not have any left.

that is what PICKMUP is using with the bracket and the 2-way cap. They look very nice located near the primary battery.

neonlarry, pm me about your t-stat housing, nipples and plugs I see on your intake manifold. I am in the process of repairing my intake manifold or replacing it and I would like to use quality parts at a reasonable price. Is that a Edelbrock 2101? I am looking at a 2701 with a 1406. Thanks.

Hmmm...my winshield washer container is on the passenger side like that overflow bottle. Does this have something to do with my auxilliary battery and custom camper wiring or did the previous owner move it.

Here you go. The bracket is attached to the fender with 2 vertical screws only.

Check on ebay, there are some nice ones on there, if you are not looking for an original. Search "radiator overflow tank" or something like that. That's where I got mine. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...tem=7987729831

I had one of those on my 62 Impala SS and the only thing missing was being able to see the water level at a glance.

That bracket and bottle looks exactly like the washer fluid bottle for my 66 Chevelle. Try to search on ebay for something like that.
