454 and TH400 in a 70 C/10 Questions
I asked this question in the drivetrain forum but thought I'd ask here also since I'm sure I'm not the only person that has done this swap. I have installed a 76 454 w/ TH400 in my 70 C/10. Now I have two questions:
Question #1 Heater Hose connections: Off the stock intake manifold I had a heater hose running to the radiator. But for the life of me I can't remember where the other heater hose connection is from. I thought it had to come from the water pump but their is no nipple. So where does the other connection come from. I can't use the big block radiator since it's too big. So I plan on using a stock style 4 core radiator. Question #2 TH400 Kickdown switch. I have the complete accelarator setup from the 76 except for the cable to the carb. How do you wire this into the 70 wiring harness? Thanks |

#1--remove plug right above lower hose ans install nipple there.
#2--install this switch( can still buy it at dealers) on your gas pedal bracket and run a wire from one post to switch on 12 volt source on fuse panel. Run a wire from other post to trans (on drivers side-one spade connector).

Question: Did you use the BB engine mounts or SB?

I used bb frame stands from teeitoff and sb rubber mounts from the corner parts store. I looked in the FAQ's and saw a post from txfireman, i think that was his name. Jeff |
