Bolting hardeware for a steel bed fleetside, what do I need?
Driving the truck to the auto ranch after work today with no box on it. I bought one and was gonna bolt it on out there. What do I need for bolts washers and nuts? I had to torch the old one to get my crapped out bed off. Thanks

Knew I should have driven mine today. Looking at my pics I just can't really tell what size bolts were used. The are fairly thick probably 5/8". You definitely don't want it getting away from you.

no flatbed for dubie
Sadly, I will not be installing the flatbed i had hoped for. I found a really nice fleetside bed at the ranch and got it for a steal. But I will post a pic of it tomorrow . What kind of hardeware do I need to bolt this type of bed down?

measure your old ones,i was thinking they were like 9/16 thick but maybe im wrong?Ive only had 4 holding mine down for 5 years.dont think it will fly off,if need something teporary just bring some long enough bolts and big washers.TEMPORARY though.

I had to torch the old ones off, so I don't have them to measure.

Go to your GM dealer, preferably one thats been in the business for a while. They should have a big old book that would say.
Or get a hold of GMCPaul today. He sells a kit with all the bolts and I am sure he wouldn't mind telling you what they are. If you haven't found out by the next time I get on I will be going to shed that houses my truck later today.

remember youll need some sort of mount to put in between the bed and frame,i made my own from some 3/8 convarier belt and a whole saw,or you could just buy some,i think the bed might sit a tad low without them...
