Need muffler for a 83
I just bought a 1983 custom deluxe 4x4 3/4 ton. I need a muffler for it. Where is the best place to get one? Right now there is only about 4 feet of pipe coming from the headers. All I want to do for now is make it quiet. Any suggestions?

Flowmater personally, but how quite do you want it? I am one of thoes people who thinks open exhaust is perfect.

I got some IMCO chambered mufflers....very much like Flowmasters, sounded a bit deeper and less tinny, and they were half the price of Flowmasters....LOVE "EM!!!
A parts place or local garage for you should be able to get them....here is there website: http://www.grabthepower.com/ ![]()

Does anybody know the diameter of the exaust coming from the headers? It looks like 2 1/2 in. I am going to pick up an exaust today on my lunch and forgot to measure it last night.

That would depend on what type of headers you have and what kind of exhaust was on there. You should definately measure it.

Yeah, don't guess because it could be 2 1/2" or something else completely different. Just go down to the parts store and talk to them about some decent mufflers if you are only worried about making it quiter for right now.
