Did they ever put buckets on a 1981 Chevy Custom Deluxe C10?

I am not positive, but I would think that you could get the optional buckets on any trim level of a truck.

I think 81 (maybe 82) was the last year for buckets in a regular cab truck too. Anyone know for sure? Ken, have any 82 or 83 info?

bigarmzz, yes, those are "low" backs. Low backs were used up till 77, although some 77's did get low backs, most I believe got high backs (as indicated by the advertisements I have seen).
Ken, bummer... ![]()

In regards to the passenger seat, why would you need to move it forward? There is nothing the passenger needs to reach (pedals or steering wheel).
Now if it were a drivers ed truck, that would be a different story. ![]() ![]() Ken, it is weird your brochure shows low backs in '77...my '77 Blazer had high backs. Wonder of the trucks got low backs till 78, and the blazers got the high backs one year earlier? BTW - both sets of truck high back seats I purchased were from '78 models.

The passenger side seat being non-adjustable is an easy fix.
Just get an additional driver's side track assembly and install it on the passenger seat. The adjusting lever will be on the inside of the seat but there's plenty of room between the console and the seat. Both seats are the same so it's a plug and play operation. I just installed '77 low back buckets in my '84 stepper so I know this will work. If you want the adjuster on the outside of the seat you can do a little fab work and make it happen. Getting that extra track assembly might take a little doing but it's worth it if you want an adjustable passenger seat. |

I realize you can't go down to Wal-mart and buy 'em but they pop up from time to time. I've gone months without seeing any for sale and then I've bought several sets at one time. You never know. You can install the passenger seat in the fixed positon and look for an additional driver's side seat track while you're riddin'. If/when you find the track it will use the same holes as the fixed seat brackets so it's not a big deal to do the swap.

1977 was the transition year, so you are going to see both offered.
