73-80 & 80-87 frame differences?
Hi guys, I am selling my frame to a guy locally, but his buddy is trying to convince him my frame is a 67-72 frame. Does any one have any pictures of their 73-80 frames?
Mine has the curved ends up front. I have a picture but can't figure out resizing it on my mac. Thanks.

As far as I am aware, they are the same less some differences on the front frame horns for the bumper differences. You can cut the older 73-80 frames to make the 81 - 87 trucks bumpers fit properly, and they otherwise line straight up.
Here is my 3/4 ton 4x4 frame from a 79 donor: First is a crappy shot in my garage (too dark for the camera) of the whole bare frame before I started on it, then a picture of the coated front, and finally another crappy shot from inside of the back (not yet complete, gonna take the leaf springs off, shoot them with graphite empregnated paint, and I gotta wirebrush a few places before I can put coating on them etc)

Thanks for the pictures. I guess it just confirms I have what I say I have.
Anyone have a picture of a 67-72 for comparison?

The only differences in the 73-80 and the 81-87 frames are the later ones have hole in the crossmember braces to lighten them up, and the front of the framehorn changed to mount the new bumper. The holes for the cab mounts are also larger on the later models.

a 67-72 frame would have coils and trailing arms in the rear if its a chevrolet frame. The 67-72 frame also is curved in towards the center directly over the rear axle.

67-72's have a vin # stamped right below the cab on the driverside framerail. i don't know where they are on these since i just started getting into these years but the # would tell you exactly what year it is. they can't argue with that one
