Gauge size - 2 1/16" or 2 5/8"

Whats' the best size to fit our bezels? Just getting ready to order new Autometers and it seems like the 2 1/16" would fit better behind the bezel. Or does the 2 5/8" work well without loosing much of the view of the face of the gauge.

Thanks for your help everyone!

Pont

I prefer the 2 5/8" myself. This will give you an idea.the autometer is 2 5/8",it is a cleaner look IMO as the gauge bezel is hidden and you lose very little visibility. The other gauge is 2 1/16" and you can see most of the gauge bezel.Hope this helps.

I havent done this Pont but I think the ones that have and looked nice were 2 5/8. I think I may have a 2 5/8 out in the garage if you'd like to try it before you order. hell it may even work......

Good pics Rollie, that pretty much clears it up for me and I'll be going with the 2 5/8" like I planned. Thanks for the offer Randy, the pics in this thread explain it well enough for me. Thanks to both of you..........

Sheesh, the stranger resurfaces.....nice to see you around Rob! I think 2 5/8" is a better choice for behind the bezel mounting as well, they look nice.

I miss Pont on the 4x4 forums big time........ I think the 2 5/8 is a good choice. I did see Thor50 on here last night. I was gonna try to get ahold of him to see if he would write up how he did his. One of the cleanest I have seen.

Randy, if you do get a hold of Thor50, definitely have him do a write-up with pics. That's a great idea. I haven't seen his but if you say it's nice, I sure would like to see it!

70c10, 68 step and mudder, I miss you guys too! Lot's of OT at work, been gone on a couple vacations this Summer, just haven't been on the board like I used to. The closer we get to Fall, I'll have more time to spend here and play catch-up. I don't even recognize a lot of the names on the board anymore, I guess I have been gone for awhile

Thanks again for the help guys and if you have any pics floating around, I would love to see them! I'm planning on Autometer Ultra Lite gauges but will take pics of any style gauge in our bezels. Post them here or send them to pont1@rvi.net

Thanks again..........
Pont
