SM465 with np205
I have a SM465 trans. with a NP205 transfer case.What gear oil would you recommend putting in these and how much do you think it would take.

80W90 and I think 5 quarts should do both...

Remove the fill plug, pump in oil untill it runs out the fill plug hole, replace plug.

if it gets colder than about 30* in the winter I suggest the synthetic gear oil from GM. I use to have the same combo in a 80 K20 & it was hard to shift in the winter before I switched. sorry, the excact name slips my memory right now.

You can actually use ATF in them, but if the seals are bad it wont last long...
