Found something really cool under the hood of my truck!

I was taping up loose wires that were hanging around in the engine compartment when I saw this huge clump of old electrical tape about four inches from the bulkhead connector on the firewall. I thought that was weird, and when I started unwrapping it I found some cool stuff. There was an old piece of legal pad paper with a name and a phone number taped over the wires with scotch tape, and when I was about to throw the elec. tape away I saw something shining in it and looked, and it was one of the original key knockouts! I just thought that was cool that I found that stuff. Anybody find weird things like that in, or on? their trucks?

EDIT

Got the pic uploaded. The key wasn't wrapped in the tape, I just put it in the pic because that's where the knockout came from.

I found the original build list stuffed under the springs on the back of my bench seat. It was torn up, but I can still read everything on it.

When I bought my 72 longbed I found a bulk pack of condoms under the seat. Only one was missing, and the receipt was a year old. The PO was married, I wonder if he bought them for a lady friend?? He did have a topper on the truck!

I have found a lot of stuff in the nooks and crannies of my old cars... especially in the bottoms of the doors and behind the side panels. I think that the "archeological dig" aspect of restoring old cars is a lot of the fun, the stuff you find, the way the parts are worn from use, etc...

You'll think I'm nucking futs, but I truly believe that old cars and even the parts you put on them carry a sort of karma along with them. I always wonder where the part has been and if it's carrying good karma or not....

One of the funnier stories happened recently... I bought a bucket seat to replace the driver’s side in my blazer that was bent back real bad. When I took it apart to recover it, I discovered that the foam had been dug out behind the plastic seat back.... kind'a like a 'stash' spot. I told the wife "I think this seat has been across the border to Mexico a few times". She shrugged and gave me the usual "yea right". Later that evening when I was yanking the nasty old cover off of it I heard something metal drop out of the seat onto the garage floor... looking down, there was a Mexican 5 peso coin!

I wonder what the warrenty is on a condom? Does it have a shelf life(or wallet life)?

I bought my K10 from the owner of a jewelry store. When I was digging the seatbelts out from under the seat for my drive home, I found a new Pulsar ladies watch new in the box. My wife still wears it everyday!

1 live mouse and a handful of shotgun shells in the cab...not sure if the PO was a mouse hunter or not?

The bed had about a yard of topsoil, 1 living tree, and a storm door in it.

If he was, he was a damn bad aim! I found some porno magazines behind the gas tank of my yellow parts truck, they were really worn out though.

All kidding aside, when I pulled the carpet there was a strange wire going through the floor about center of drivers floorboard. Turned out to be a PA horn, perhaps for a 2-way radio. The truck was construction equipment yellow, so maybe a state or county rig, hence the bull horn!
