Lap to Shoulder belt conversion
Noticed holes in the cab corners for sholder belts. Wondering if anyone has installed any and which ones to use. I have almost finished the minor refurb on the 69 for my son, starts driving next week. I think the shoulder belts would be safer. Any ideas?
Thanks

I used 2nd row suburban. Mid-late 80's. Female portion too short. Very akward to buckle. Looking for longer ones. Little sensitive on the locks too. Many members have went with S-10 or baby blazer belts with sucess. They complain about the sholder harness being too short for larger bellies. I don't have a big belly, I was just trying to be differant.
Oh, removing the fuel tank is mandatory for the driver side belt unless you fab up a bracket to extend the mount forward. |

I put a set out of a 73-87 in mine. I'm not sure of the year of the truck I took them out of. The female portion is too short, but they work just fine, and look like they were made for it.

I bought these many months ago. Had to use a piece of angle iron on each one to position the brackets the correct way so they would work. The truck's not on the road yet but these work good just sitting still in the truck. Bucket seats, by the way.

I installed these. http://www.julianos.com/how2_67chevy_truck.html
Very nice, very safe, very, very easy. The plates they use under the floor are a great item. I'm going to get more to use for my seat attach points.

S10 , belts in BB , I had to get a Free seat belt extender for my large friends ( over 260 ) ,I am 200 and plenty of room .
You have to make a bracket to clear the tank if you still have it in the cab , I would look into some of the belts that are direct bolt in ,if cost isn't a problem .
