Differenal
I have a 70 c-10. It as a 3.73 posi rear end out of a 71 suburban ( I think). But I have some questions. First is there any way to tell what fluid goes in it. And I know I will have to take the cover off the drain it but when I put a new gasket in will I need to put silicone to seal it and if so where.
thanks |

Personally, i never use gaskets on the diff. Just straight sealant...and I only use The Right Stuff. It's kinda expensive, but it is the best.
As far as oil, 80/90 is fine...but synthetic is way better if you can swing the $$. |

You allso need to get some posi lube for it,you just add it in the 80/90 suppose to keep you clutches lubed and from chattering allso.I think it comes in an 8 ounce tube.
