Project frustrations!!! /rant on
This is getting rediculous.
1st one: I bought a complete set of stainless brakelines and hoses from Inline Tube. I don't have any factory bent line on either of the two C10's I have right now. So, I had to guess where it all went, and let me tell you, IT's NOT INUITIVE! So, I am down to the final piece, want to guess what happened? They put the wrong fitting on. So, I RMA'd it and I need to wait for it to get back. Took about 5 calls to get them to do it, as they kept trying to blame other components I bought from them! 2nd one: The cab that I bought that's supposed to be turn key ready for paint, needs more body work. I can put my fingers through gaps in the cab corners, they didn't use actual panels and used flat sheet metal, so I have to weld in new panels or cobble together body, seat and seat belt mounts, which is something I don't play with. (this is the body guy's fault, not the guy I got it from). 3rd: The Ford 9" I wanted to use for this, built supposedly for a C10 is too wide. So I have that on the table and I am cutting off the bearing cups to narrow it down. Which also means I have to have the shafts narrowed a wee bit more. Can you say I am tubbing the heck out of this thing? 4th: Seems like every vendor I use takes 3x longer than they say they will to ship items and I am stupid and trusting of that. Anyhow, /rant off. Yeah it Sucks when you think you are buying just what you want and when you are all hyped up and have it in your head how it is going to fit and look.....and bamm, it doesnt fit! I hate that! The only thing that make you wanna continue sometimes is that you still know what you want it to look like when your done and you know it will look like that when you are done! Nothing is going to stop you!
Just know that all the PITA stuff your doing will be rewarded when you finish!

Sorry to hear about your luck.
Please be sure to post a review of your shopping experience with that company in the "Reviews" forum. It really, really helps the thousands of other people that come here and need feedback on companies. It's especially important when you have a bad shopping experience.

That is why it takes me so long to do a project---I do about 95% of the work myself. A frame up takes me about 3 years.

When ordering from Summit, use their online website to get your own part numbers so you don't have any suprises like that anymore. Just call them and give them the numbers to remove any chance of errors.

Grendel - I'm interested if the rest of the tubing was satisfactory. I plan to use them for my brake lines, they are local to me so I'll be picking the items up in person

I found my exact application on the webpage, called and spoke with a tech person, he confirmed the part number and shipped the part. The guy who assembled my rear end tells me it is for a 12 bolt passenger car rear end, not a truck. It isn't even close to matching up. I ended up with a nice painted cover instead...

I started to use Inline tube for my stainless brake a fuel lines and after 5 min of talking to them, I won't use them. Their slaesman are on the verge of rude and they WILL NOT make modifications to any of their lines. So I called Classic Tube and got a much better response. THe salesman was friendly and willing to help. They will also make modifications and build custom lines. They will be getting my business in the near future.

My own frustrations aren't with vendors and part whores -- they are with myself for being too excied about the idea of getting back into this hobby and buying the first thing to come along.
I have a truck that runs perfectly, drives like a new car at 75mph on the freeway (except for being noiser than a big-rig) but is all but hopelessly rusted. Everytime I tear into a little body work I find more rust. The biggest frustration is that I can't even cuss out Sumitt or Jegs -- it is 100% my fault for thinking with the wrong head when I bought it. (Cripes.. I think I got my first wife the same way! lol)
