Cool 1972 VIN Frame Location

Never really tried to locate this before. I knew it was somewhere, but it wasn't until I removed my cab off of the frame that I finally located it!
You will see in my image below that it is located under the cab on the top of the frame before the rear cab mount.
All that was stamped was the : 2SXXXXXX The year, Plant build initial (I assume!) and the last 6 digits of the VIN...
I am unsure on other years here from 67-71 but this is where mine is located on my 1972!
Hope this helps someone!

Cool VIN locations...

Besides the Frame location and the metal VIN plate riveted on the door jamb, is there a stamped VIN on any of our Cabs?
My Camaros have them stamped on the firewall inside of the heater core cover.
I have yet to find one on the cab on these trucks...Anyone?

Don't know of any on the cab. My 68 has it stamped on the top of the frame, on the driver's side, between the motor mounts and the steering box.

My 67 is stamped on the frame under the cab on the drivers side as well as on the frame by the steering box. It was made at the Fremont plant if that makes a difference.
