Nothing real important...I have a larger version of this as my wall paper now.
This is a pic i have wanted to do since 97 when i got the first Longhorn. Never got a chance to do it...well, never got around to it anyways. When i first got this one running back in March, I was planning on doing it, but that plan got killed when I blew the engine the second day of driving it.
So... here it is. I had my friend take the pic so i could be in there too. I considered a burn out shot at the same place, but it was kinda buisy there and ppl on the north side of town just don't understand that kind of madness... they just call the cops. (don't ask me how I know this)

Andy, Too cool! That's a great picture! I smell a challenge however since there are several Longhorn restaurants here as well.

I just noticed and want to mention that I like your wheel treatment. I have been experimenting with the monster 33-12.5x16.5's on the back of the BB Longhorn. What do you think?

Adam, one day, there will be a cross country trip with this sucker... and I'll be getting all kinds of cheezy shots.

Mike, I WISH I could have done something like that. That is exactly what I wanted. However, on the flip side, I'd hate to pay to replace those tires. When i first got the longhorn there were some 16.5 X 10-ish rims in the back, and as soon as I started pricing tires for them, I sold the wheels and got these 16 inchers. Actually, Longhorn jeff GAVE me these wheels. He had them laying around and was going to put them on his longhorn, but after only putting a couple thousand miles on it in the last 5 or more years, he said screw it and suprised me with them a few years ago. The front tires are nothing special Courser (I never heard of them myself) LT 245/75 R 16 inch, and out back I have some 31 inch tall Michilins that are 235/85....those came off a Class A motor home and cost me nothing at all. I have GMC hub caps of varying condition, and trim rings that are practicly perfect purchased off the parts board I think...IIRC, i only paid like 30 bucks for them delivered.
Here's a pic of the best hub cap mounted on there...this woulda been back in march or so.

Andy, Free are the best kind...LOL! Longhorn Jeff is a sweet guy for giving you those! The tires on my new Longhorn are in excellent condition. I really want 33-12.5's all the way around but will run these until I need to replace them. I will sand blast the wheels and paint them gold like the LH brochure. I got new 16.5 beauty rings in wrappers with the truck so those will look very nice with the chrome caps. I should have used some ArmorAll on the tires before taking the pics...it looks so much better. One step at a time.

I saw some nice 16.5 x 10 Indy slots on craigslist for only $200...I was tempted but I think these stock steel rims have some additional kewl factor to them.

Jeff is a helluva guy... but I dunno if I'd call him sweet.

I am secure enough in my man hood to say I don't like callin dudes sweet.

Slots would be cool, but you need the stupid shanked lug nuts which aren't all that bad, but a PITA still. Plus, all you'll find them in is 16/5 ... never in 16 inch. Although, I was told a few years ago (never looked into it) if you are looking for off road tires... mudder type tires, that 16.5 is the way to go... not 16 inch.

I'll just add that to the growing list of things i don't understand.
mike, i like the way the added depth makes yours kinda look like cop car wheels ... or is it just me?

yo andy...those coursers are some of the longest wearing tires i have ever owned. i did some checking after they lasted so long on my jeep wrangler and found out they are made right here in ohio(findlay) by cooper tire....

Those huge stock 16.5x9.75's are hard to find around here. I got lucky and was walking in the junkyard and found one with a 40% tread 33-12.5 BFG MudKing tire on it. I know the guy that runs the yard so he gave me a hell of a deal on it.(10 bucks!) Took it to the big truck tire center and they got the bead to seal and the tire held air. I've put over 500 miles on it.

I've never been able to find another one here, or at any junkyard within a 90 mile radius.

The other rim I have is a 16.5-9.75 white wagon wheel with a 80% tread 33-12.5 Cooper discoverer A/T. Right now I have 31-10.5-15's on white wagon wheels in the front, going with tubeless 7.5-16LT's when they wear out, and new 33-12.5's in the back. The cheapest I found the 33's was at discount tire for 155 bucks a piece, and I wanted the 7.5-16's because they're only about 70 bucks a piece at the farm tire place.

Robert, I will keep my eyes open for you. I have seen some at the swap meets but it never occurred to me that I should buy them. The same with the 16-in 8-lugs with the hubcap clips!

hey man that would be a big help if you can find one. it just has to be the later style rim that takes the big 12" hubcaps.
