Dash lights ?
Does anyone know the correct dash light (bulb) sizes to use.....I was at the auto parts store the other day, and they had 4 different numbers, but all had the same fit. Not sure which ones to get.....
anyone?

194 for the inst panel, and 168 for directional indicators.
168's in the inst panel would be twice as bright though. (1.5 candles verses 3 candles) |

That's what I needed to know....thanks.
So, could I use the 168's for the inst. panel without any worry of a melt down (being too hot)?

GMCjim... or something like that, he has run them in his with no ill effects. Myself, I painted the inst panel guts white instead of that gay lookin green and with the white guages, it proved to be too much. So I inserted blue lights and it looks killer.
So no, i have not tried it myself. |

The 168 will work just fine with no problems. I ran them in my truck before I started restoring them and painting the inside white like longhorn said. It is a very very small amount of current increase, so no problems with mine and I ran them for a year or two. If you really want them to be bright you can get the leds and they are really bright and look great at night, especially in color. Randy
