Purchased a GTA trans am steering wheel off of nevada70chev on the parts board, recived it Wed, got it installed thusday, and postin a pic today. (nevada70chev made me do it

)
It is smaller than the late model truck wheel I had (the soft 4 spoke that many of us like) mounted before...I liked the old one, but I couldn't see the acc guages, and after blowing an engine due to massive overheating, and then killing another due to lack of oil pressure... I been keepin a \n eye on these guages like mad.
This wheel is pretty cool, and it was in better than advertised condition...that doesn't happen all the time, even on here. So, my hat is off to nevada70chev ...deal with him if you get the chance.
Ignore how filthy my truck is.... it's not normally like that.

wife has the same throttle pedal and dimmer swicth cover.that wheel looks comfy

I like your steering wheel. Looks nice. I have one of those lame steering wheels from a '70s van. It's shaped for the column to be leaned farther forward so it doesn't fit the shape of my hand at all. I need to get something different. Was it a challenge to get your horn button working?

I still have the old Grant chrome 3-spoke (with holes!) that I bought decades ago. Yours is much nicer!

Edit: Andy, I just noticed - is that a Sun Super Tach in the dash? with the pointer at about 4500? Looks great - I have one (but mounted on the column), set at 4500. WTH, it's where the trans shifts anyway....

I never have problems adapting anything to fix the horn...grant GT, never an issue, many stock type wheels, no problems... tehya re actually pretty simple. I can't remember if it is a Sun...I wanna say Equidus or something lame/gay like that.... it was free. Some kid gave it to me instead of gas money once. I NEED to get a white one in there. I want to get a white faced moon eyes tach in there.
It is set at 4500 RPM, I'll hold it there for a short period of time in theory. In reality, i don't like holding it over 4000. I have had it to about 4900-5100 in a forced down shift once.
Scared me a bit.

That reminded me of my (then new) '69 El Camino, 396/375, TH400, back when I was young & foolish. It redlined at 6500, but I discovered if you held it WFO in first, it would go to about 7200 before automatically upshifting.... it certainly would get your attention when it slammed into second!

my truck came with a 3 spoke GM accesory wheel from like the 80's( i think) that works pretty nice. i added a wheelskin to it, and its great. ill post a pic when i get a chance

Is that a moon throttle? Had one of them back in the 60's. Are you going to change out the horn button or cover that logo? I too like the smaller wheel that I now have on mine. It is a '94 Chevy I think. I did get my horn working. If you remember, you helped me. Thanks. You have been a big help to a lot of folks here. Hope you stay around for another 50. It is people like you that make this place so special.

longhorn, thanks for the compliment. i try to sell stuff that i would only put on my own truck, but can't really use. i actually have a few different steering wheels, for what reason i don't know.
