ive always like vinyl tops on cars. my 69 charger was red with a black vinyl top. i liked it better than the painted top cars. i wonder what a real vinyl top would look like on one of these trucks? the spray on one you show almost looks like the spray on bed liner they use now.

My 71 4x4 has that exact top on it. The truck has the original paint on it. It only had one "strip" on it when I got it. I don't really like it, but I have never done anything with the body of the truck in the 15 years I have had it!! I always wanted to know the info about it.

You would not believe how many people ask me "Is that a vinyl top?" I have never seen another one. Some day when the body get redone, it will not have the "vinyl" top on it anymore. It will be orange and white.

That's very cool Joe IMO. I've never heard of that dealer installed option either. Vinyl tops were pretty popular in the early 70's.

Joesjunk Not only is your truck killer, that top is really sweet. I had a buddy back in high school that had a 67 Chevelle repainted and they put a spray on top on it. It looked great. Much cheaper than a real vinyl top and still looked good...

Hard to believe that this was in the trash can. Why would someone throw that away? Never new they had this option. Dear cost $14.00. Or is that the selling cost? Cool.

Seeing an actual up to date picture of one is pretty cool! I can't believe how well they hold up. I wonder if this service or one like it is still available some places?

Sweet Find! I would love to have bigger copy's too, any chance you could e-mail 'em to jesusofwiarton@hotmail.com ? And for Joe, I know pictures can paint a pretty picture sometimes but I do think that option looks great on your Truck.
