Has or does anyone have a hydro clutch set-up in there truck a friend of mine it wanting to convert ot a hydro set-up and needs a direction to head any help would be great..

Had one for 6 years on my 72 2wd cheyenne. Used a trans from a 96 chev truck with hydro clutch. Mounted the master cylinder behind brake boster using the original manual clutch linkage rigged to activate. The 5 speed worked great but the clutch was a bit hard to push in.

what does that look like? i'm thinking of buying a 5 spd from a 92 chev pu. and i'm lery of the hydro clutch as i used to have one and about once a year i'd have to replace something in it b/c i blew out an oring.

If you don't want to cobble one together out of used parts, check out the setup from McCleoud. It uses a hydraulic throwout bearing..Summit carries it..It's pretty sweet.

i've had a jeep w/ the hydro bearing it in it and it is the smoothest by far but if you're hard on them like i am when it comes to shifitng. they have a tendency of blowing out a couple of orings a year and they cost alot to replace, not counting the time to remove the tranny to replace the bearing.
