Yeah I was hoping that it was a 71,72 when I starting looking at it. But it is indeed a 70. That is what the title says and it does have the lowly manual drum brakes. I definetly need to find out more info on the disc brake upgrade... Does anyone have any info on the upgrade? Where I might be able to get the parts to do it!. thanks CHRIS

Nice truck. I wouldn't waste my time converting to disks up front if you aren't going to use it much. My '69 GMC 1-ton still has drums all the way round and I don't have any problems getting stopped even with be a tad (Over) Loaded in our PA mountains. Mine does have a OE booster though too, works good for the little bit I use the truck.

I have to say I have been pretty impressed with my one ton drums so far...
although, BUYING them sucks. I dropped 5 bills and got a 1/2 redone brake system. So from a $$ point of view...AND an ease or maintnance point of vew, the upgrade is cool. |
