Hey Guys!

I'm brand new to this forum, but have really enjoyed seeing the pics and questions from a bunch of guys (and girls?) that really know their trucks. I live on Maui and have been working on my current project for the last few years. It's a blast and have had alot of fun working on it. Being from the drag racing camp I really enjoy the pro-street look, so I hope everyone will like what I'm doing in the way of customizing. Right now I am finishing up on some re-wiring of the complete truck. Next is steering column and air conditioning as I wrap up the stereo and speaker setup. Does anybody want to recommend air conditioner or steering assembly? I don't even know what length I need (but I'll find out). Most of the work has been accomplished by myself and some really close friends. Well, here's hoping that I'll make some interesting friends here. I'll figure out how to make smaller size photos and include some soon.

Looks pretty good in the pic! I recomend a 70's or early 80's van tilt it has the key on the dash and is easy to adapt! I'm a drag racer also and I can't wait to finish my truck an go for a fast ride!

As soon as I figure out how to shrink the photos to a correct size I'll send more. My idea is to make a not trailer queen street rod. I was thinking of a billet column to match all the chrome and billet in the interior. Got a length so I can go shopping on e-bay?

Vintage Air is a great way to go for your A/C needs. I have their sure fit system in both of my trucks. They make a very complete kit with excellent instructions.

Finally got some good advice on the pics..Thanks! Here is a few taken a couple of weeks ago. Plans are in the works, but still have six months to go. Currently the body has been shaved from head to toes, sports a Art Morrison rear clip with for 9 inch with disc brakes and tubbed wheelwells. Tank built by Rob @ No Limit along with gauge and glove panels (great truck man). New front end. All sheetmetal down to skin and resurfaced. Interior - plan on caramel leather with Recarro (style) racing seats. Alpine stereo, Boston and Kicker speakers. Running a 331 with T350 (modified), used to run a 355 with T350 and ran best at 12.83 et. Sentimental value as I bought from my best friend back in 1999, after departing with a 21' Ford 4X4 (no loss!). Plan on going the Stacey David route (engine and trans) sometimes next year after the home equity appreciates. So far the cab has gone through 10 modifications. The bed will go through another 8 modifications. Have a set of Torque Thrust 2 to replace the current wheels after replacement of front end components. Lot's of custom fabricated parts And life goes on.

So anybody got advice on what length steering column I need?

As far as the Air I was probably going to use the Vintage Air but need to go shopping for prices. Any connections?

I am beginning to enjoy myself in here with the other gear heads... Ah! Paradise.....

I was unable to find more than a $50 dollar difference from source to source. I just cut out the middle man and bought directly from Vintage Air. To build your kit they have to know if you have what size engine you have and what side of the engine the Alternator is on and several other specifics. I figured by eliminating the middle man the chances of my info being confused would be reduced.

Welcome from Texas, but you are doing things backwards. You are supposed to join the board with a junker and then ask the questions on how to build, not show up in show form from the beginning. Didn't anybody give you a copy of the rules!!! Just kidding, it looks great. We all wish we were at least that stage wondering what steering column and a/c we are going to use. Most of wonder where we are going to get the money to build our projects that we love so much. Good luck and keep us updated, Bra! Hang ten.

Previous Inquires: I currently have a 331 ci (327 punched) but plan on putting a 572 crate with a T400 in next year sometime after I finish the interior. Does anyone have experience in if there are any problems with this conversion?

I have a bed for it and am currently doing some modification to it. Don't like some of the things that were done with stepsides (lights hanging off the edge). I plan on adding some "fooseness" to it so it will be original but will also match some of the details of the cab. Should have it done in a few months. I am trying to concentrate on a complete re-wire of the truck as I am adding alot of extras.
