The engine wont start or the starter wont turn?

It sounds like the starter wont turn. There is an ignition switch on your steering column. It is what sends power to the starter. If the starter checks out and durring crank posistion on your key you have 0 volts to the small wire on the solenoid then most likey this switch is bad.

are you sure that the battery isn't dead? there can be enough juice in it to light the lights, but not enough to turn the starter.

isnt there an inline fuse between the starter and the switch that runs down the bottom side of the engine??? im not sure also did you have the starter checked before you left the store to make sure it worked properlly i have bought some that were very weak (re-maned crap) just a few more suggestions and best of luck!

Do your lights and everthing work when you try and start it?.
If so.. do they dim at all when you turn the key?..

I had a problem simular to yours.. I changed my starter and my truck would still not start.. it turned out i just drained out all the cranking amps out of my battery.. I tossed it on a charger for a hour or so and it fired right up..

Your battery can still have enough power to run all your electronics in the truck but not have enough remaining amps to start the truck..

just a though..
