Carb to EFI Swap

I've been really toying with the idea of swapping the carb setup on my 73 for an EFI. My major questions at this point are:

1. What is the best option? TBI, MPFI, or TPI

2. Should I look for used parts and harnesses, or go with a Holley or Edelbrock kit?

3. Any recommendations on ignition systems?

4. Any advice or recommendations from those who have done this swap?

Right now the internals of the engine are stock. The engine has 42,000 original miles and has been parked for the better part of about 10 years. It has been started and driven on occassion, but not much. I would like to tear it down and inspect the inside. I think it would probably just need cleaned and honed. I've also thought about Vortec heads and a mild cam. Thoughts? The trans is a TH350, and I have had thoughts of replacing this eventually. This would be built as a driver, so insane amounts of horsepower are not a requirement, but I'm looking for something around the 350 horse range. So, what suggestions, advice, stories, or warnings do you guys have?

Matt

Now that is a sweet setup. What did the TPI come from? Thanks for the offer, but I'm not sure what I would do with another truck. I don't have room right now for the one I have.

I am working on a how-to for this. It am going from Carb to TPI on my Jimmy. A complete running motor would be the simplest solution if you got the wiring and everything...

BTW, it is being "documented" here also: http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/s....php3?t=170357
