Does anyone know if the rear driveshaft on 1/2 tons is the same for 3/4 tons and what years will interchange with an 85 3/4 ton

Same length, but different U-Joint size. You can mix and match by using a combination joint, which will be bigger 1 way than the other.
I'm not dead solid on this, but I believe that the rear shaft should interchange on anything from 80-87,assuming you still have the original NP208.Also be aware that different transmissions will have different length driveshafts, such as a 4 speed shaft will be longer than an auto, etc.

Re: driveshaft ?'s

Be careful using other driveshafts. They may be okay, but have them balanced at a local driveshaft shop. If you are going to replace the u-joints use a Spicer style u-joint and dont use any cheap brand, because cheaper isn't always better.

Re: driveshaft ?'s

The ones I currently put in were precision lasted about 40,000. Figured I'd just put in a used shaft as this one has a six inch dent in it that I think is responsible for a vibration that probably took them out. Just wasn't 100% sure what years/styles interchanged but I assumed mid 70's to 87.
