Is there a way that i can make my old 1969 chevy grill shine?

the only way I can think of is to start sanding, start with like 180 or 200 grit paper on a D/A sander, then get some buffing compound, a buffer, and a squirt bottle full of water and go to work....I polished a set of badly nicked up fuel tanks for a Peterbilt once, took me forever, but when I was done, I could've used them for shaving mirrors.

i thought i read someone on here used oven cleaner to get their grille to shine but i could be wrong so dont try it until someone verifies this

Oven cleaner is used to take the anodizing off the grill before polishing and reanodizing or clear coating the grill. If you polish the grill and not seal it with a quality clear coat or anodizing it will dull and need polishing all the time.

Seems the stuff can eat corrosion off aluminum. Boaters swear by it.

I had www.qweststar.com do this grille. Awesome job!. They even repaired minor dings. It now looks like chrome. They do not Re-anodize, so you will have to polish it from time to time. They don't recommend clearcoating either because it takes so much abuse being in front of the truck.
