I just went to look at a 70 lwb with factory air that was not hooked up and I would want to make it work if I buy it. I would want it changed over to the new coolent. But I realy don't know how much this would cost as I have never had a car or truck with air before. I have read some of the post but did not take it all to heart as it did not apply to me at the time. Now, I wish I had read them better. I am not looking for a exact price just a general idea. depends on many factors, such as how complete the system is, and what shape the parts are in... probably gonna cost you an hour's labor just for them to look at it, and that's 60 bones in my area... if it's complete and the parts are serviceable, then you might be able to get away for less than a couple hundred.... starts going up rapidly when you start replacing parts....

Just did exactly that on a '68 Stepside--you're looking at $500 minimum------replaced the compressor, evaporator, dryer, hoses, etc. That's doing it yourself--------probably $800 if you have someone else do it.

I just finished mine
Replaced all underdash hoses and seals in firewall box and cowls.
Bought new compressor, expansion valve, dryer also heater core and shut-off valve and had the system flushed out vacumed down, converted and recharges with 134A somewhere between
$800 and a grand.
I installed all the parts myself
Just to convert and flush the system and charge with oil and freon after all parts were installed was $450
But it works just as it did in 1971
