Ever See One of These
I was looking through my assembly manual and came across this pic. It shows a cover on the duct for the cable and lever that controls the heat and defrost. I have never seen one. Has any one ever seen one. It looks like it would make a nice touch to the inside.

Re: Ever See One of These
From the pic it looks like it would be really easy to make with some mild gauge and a sheetmetal break. I can't really tell from the picture, does it screw in at the top anywhere?

Intersting observation PU70. I wonder if it's for cowel models or something like that. I've never seen one either.

Re: Ever See One of These
Was it for an overseas/export model? Some cars made for very hot climates (Africa, Middle East) came w/out heaters. A heater delete panel??

Cool things you find in the factory manual, some things you never knew existed.

Re: Ever See One of These
Looked at my heater box yesterday, it has the two screwholes in the steel for that plate but obviously has never had anything screwed into it. I'm going to make one here one of these days.

Re: Ever See One of These
Yes - I have one. Used in 40-50-60 series trucks with the pug nose. The cab is not as deep as a regular cab and so the heater box is also closer to your feet. This tin plate screws to the heater box in the holes noted above. I think it hides the heat/defrost flapper cable.
It's really not necessary for regular PU-Blazer-or Burb.
