I would like to put 2001 center caps on my ralley wheels. The problem is that the center caps thread on to the lug nuts of the wheels. And of course, the nuts don't interchange but they are close.

If I get new studs and nuts, (I believe that they are either a bit larger or have a different thread pattern). Will I be able to just press (hammer) the old ones out and the new ones in ?

Without taking them out, I'm not sure of the length for the disks up front and the drums out back. Are they the same length?

I am just now installing a set of new HD alloys on my 72 C20. I bought new 9/16 lug nuts that were double threaded just like th e new metric lugs at WWW.jaeeagle.com

The only problem is the wheel center cap on the rear axle will not cover the rear hub without about 7/8" gap between wheel and the cap. I have used the original lugs on the rear first and the double nutted with the new style lugnuts. I'm thinking of trying a set of 8 lug 1/4 spacers behind the wheel first and do some grinding on the back of the cap to narrow the gap.

There is a Company in Mira Loma Cal. that has the lug nuts to adapt the late model wheels and center cap to our trucks .

I like your idea of spacers and a grinder. I also have access to the HD rims, but I'm not sure if they will look OK. My truck is 20% steel and 80% rust. Can you post a photo of the truck with those rims on?

I am getting my new BFG RWL tires mounted on the new HD alloys
on Friday so I will take pictures this weekend and post them. I did dry fit the wheels without tires and the front fit perfect and the rear only had the cap problem. THe lug nuts look just like the oem metric ones and are even gold cad plated and worked great.
A lot less hassle than buying new studs and replacing them.
We'll post this weekend.
