Steering column slop
The gear selector on the column is rather sloppy(kinda hard to tell what gear your in) What all is involved in fixing it? Thanks, Mike

Need specifics.Is it a 3 speed auto or what?
First suggestion is to check the bushings on the shift levers at the tranny for either type.I'm sure someone can give you a better idea how to fix it but you need to let them know what you're trying to fix.

I just baught my truck not too long ago and i have the same problem. Id say check the gear select linkage and check if its good, and if the connections aren't loose on both ends, since im replacing my tranny and getting a shift kit im not worried about mine, but id explore that option if i were you.

I've heard there is some sort of nylon bushing at the base of the shift lever that wears out over time. Maybe your problem?? Maybe not.
