my 85 4x4's almost done!...(pics)

been working on it now for about two months, nearly straight....
the lift is gettin alittle "tweeked" today when i took the pic

here's the before and after pics....of course i changed the rad support as well....all sheet metal (except the fenders and inners) are GM
and i finally got to use my GM grille that i've been holding onto for 3 years

(fyi the color is PPG chroma base "pitch black")

bigarmzz,

That is one beautiful truck. Did you paint it yourself? I love black too but I've gotten to old and lazy to keep it looking good.

Really nice truck you have built. Any interior pics? BTW: Keep the visor. They do look good on a lifted truck like yours.

i dont think anyone would want to see the interior right now

thats my next project...but..as much $$$ as this has cost so far, the interior may have to wait til after income tax time

unless anyone here has any black interior pieces they'd donate a fellow board member with empty pockets?

I love the color, nice job. I love the chroma base paints, I want to paint my 89 the same color.

Do you still have the other truck?

Good job once again, bigarmzz.
(Wow, two trucks in one year.) You should take a couple of shots of your trucks side-by-side.

At the rate your going, if you run out of trucks to customize, I'm sure you could find some takers here.

BTW, you can probably revise your signature now that it's painted now.

Good job.

Nothing looks better than black paint...as long as it belongs to someone else. It is just too much work, as Swervin said, and requires a smoother body than I'll ever be able to achieve.

Very nice mr. ! Its allways nice to see a project come to fruition....damn nice work. I like the visor also as i seem to have some retro in me being a child in the 70's and going to countless SoCal rod shows with my dad in his 57 Cameo left some lasting marks...i actually installed the classic 70's chrome "Foot" pedal on the 76...and if wasn't for the camper overhang i think i'd also go for the visor myself....

currenty it has a 8" suspension lift and 36 x 14:50 radial Super Swampers.... ...rides like a road wagon with this set up

but, i'm in the middle (as you can see in the pics) of droppin it down to a 6" Skyjacker lift, and i have new polished aluminum Eagle alloys, and new 35" Pro-comp Mud terrains to put on it too..i'm hopin it will sit and ride better

That paint job looks like it's a mile deep! Great job. Looks like I need to get Big Bird over to your shop for some quality work. By the way, if I could get a vehicle in my garage, it would be my truck too. The hell with the mini van.

WOW nice truck(s) I agree with you on black hard to keep clean but well worth the work when they are clean I'm in to lowered trucks but I admire lifted trucks as well. Good job my 78 and 60 sit in my garage while my 2005 BMW 530 and 2004 tahoe sits out side. Sad but true lol.
