1969 Chevy truck crew cab
Well I had a truck that followed me home today , looking for his older brother that is in the shed. I had to keep him, always need a pair. The truck has a Chevy 350 with a turbo 400 trans, has a late model running gear, I believe late 80's but not sure. It is a 4 wheel drive 3/4 ton truck. It has a 14 bolt rear end. It does run but will not shift into reverse or drive for some reason. It has 3 doors and both of the rear windows work. It has what looks to be late 90's front and rear seats installed in it. It is one big truck.

Here are some interior and engine pictures pictures. Check out the gas tank in the back of the bed, holds 36 gallons, probably need it driving this pig.

Re: 1969 Chevy truck crew cab
I do not know yet, I also have a 67 GMC extended cab that only has 2 doors so I guess I will need to make a choice or do them both.

If you have to make a choice look me up. It's cold here right now, a trip to California would do me good

Re: 1969 Chevy truck crew cab
The wheelbase on this truck is 162 inches and the wheelbase on my other extended cab is 140 inches while the wheelbase on a Suburban is I believe about 132 inches. It does fill the driveway.

That is a pretty sweet truck...the bed is the exact same color (and same faded condition) as my longhorn.

Re: 1969 Chevy truck crew cab
I like the ideal that it has a rear door and that both windows in the rear go down, something my other truck does not have.

Re: 1969 Chevy truck crew cab
Damn... Those pics put a lot of ideas in my head. Its about time someone had the guts ( and money ) to put something that long on the road. I'm not sure if I would body drop it and air bag the suspension and make it lay rockers or keep it that height? Of course you could of had the long horn extra length bed for extra girth.. ( or do you ? )

Re: 1969 Chevy truck crew cab
Nice truck. You say '69 but that is a '68 front end...I am sure I missed where you mentioned that. What are the other options on it?

Re: 1969 Chevy truck crew cab
Very nice truck. Can't wait toi see the final redo on it. Of course you could always take a vacation to Mississippi with it and leave it here. Sort of Katrina hurricane relief .

Re: 1969 Chevy truck crew cab
They have put the truck on a 4Wd frame and did a nice job I think of it. I am not sure what frame they used but someone already has done a lot fo work to make it what it is today. It is registered as a 1969 but has a 68 front end on it which I like. It has power brakes and power steering which I think si good since this is a big truck. I was told by the PO that the 4Wd worked good but have not checked it out since I have to fix the transmission first. If this truck had a Longhorn bed on it it would really look big. I would like to fix a few of the problems and get it on the road, maybe get rid of the gas tank in the bed for sure as it has a lot of rust in it.

Re: 1969 Chevy truck crew cab
I noticed that the brake lines from the MC are running down to the frame and wanted to know where is the P-block located? I just did the same thing to my 67. I had leftover lines from a '76 4x4 I parted out and mounted the P-block on the front crossmember. It makes for a little less clutter on the drivers side and easier to reach the plugs. After 2 days of bending and flaring I'm getting ready to bleed the system. BTW those seats are SWEEEET!

Re: 1969 Chevy truck crew cab
Later rigs had the P-valve mounted to the frame, I forget where.
