plain white factory steel wheels?
Starting resto on a 72 jimmy. I thought it would be cool to put some 15x8 or 15x10 white (not spoke) steel wheels on with some gmc hubcaps that fit inside these wheels. Where do I find these wheels other than stockton read expensive. I know factory wheels wher 15x6 or 15x7 but I figure I could find some 6 bolt wheels in a wider size. Any body got any or know where I can get some?
thanks Jacksonbase |

Re: plain white factory steel wheels?
Orig factory "steelies" are kind of hard to come by.I'm sure the old Junk yards in the North West and Arizona and New Mexico would have a set or two.
You can always get the thinner ones widened. Sorry no leads for you.

Check StocktonWheel.com. Someday, when time and (mostly) money permit, I'd like to send my stock steel wheels to them to have the widened.

Re: plain white factory steel wheels?
Check over on the 73-86 board. They made a stock 15X8 in the 73-76 range. I saw a set When I was at Bill Athey's(Vendor) a few years back. Might ask him and check around. If you have the small hubcaps like bouncy the wider rims are your only option. Mine came with the full wheel covers which I have over 15X8 wagonwheels that cannot be seen

Re: plain white factory steel wheels?
I have one that looks like it was an NOS spare. Since I am not allowed to post it here, I will post it for sale in the classifieds later today.

I've got a complete set (5) of the factory "steelies" but I think they are 15x7.

Re: plain white factory steel wheels?
Make sure they will work with the disc brakes. I put a wheel off my 70 onto the Blazer and the inside of the wheel was hitting the caliper and wouldn't turn.

I know there was a wide factory white wheel. I have an old brochure with it.
