I'm on my seventh cold one, gonna go drink six more then come back and read this again - I might have a better understanding at that point. If not it's off to drink six more and try it again...

Re: The oldest kid says "HE!! NO"
I think I may seek some help because I am sober and I think I understood what he was saying.
Longhorn I say go ahead with the olds and get that old school stuff out of your system. Kind of fun to get side tracked on something else for awhile and your truck will always be there waiting patiently for you when the fog clears and sanity returns

Re: The oldest kid says "HE!! NO"
I think I may have decoded it! But you'll have to pay me four installments of only $29.95! But if you call now, I'll take one whole payment off that! That's right, for only three easy installments of only $29.95, you can understand just what the heck Crazy L was talking about! In addition, you can get another special add on! That's right! I'll even throw in a special introductory gift of a decoder for past and future posts by Crazy L that you can't understand! This is a $19.95 value! For free! All you have to do is call the number at the bottom of your screen and be ready to hand over all your bank account, credit card, and personal information! So call the number at the bottom of your sceen now, and learn the secrets of this crazy man!

Build it! Listen to the Kathy Mattea song "455 Rocket" first for inspiration!

Re: The oldest kid says "HE!! NO"
Ok, so he wants to revisit his high school days and rebuild or or buy one and do up, an Olds Vista Station Wagon. He does have a project in place now and that's a Truck. He may throw a BBOlds into his truck (fabricating motor mounts, I assume) instead.

Re: The oldest kid says "HE!! NO"
i say build the wagon and build an olds for the longhorn with a little more pep than the 383 your running now. but im a little too. but if you have the option of doing both why choose just keep yourself busy a little longer

Re: The oldest kid says "HE!! NO"
and I say, take the '66 VistaCruiser wagon, and strip it to the bare minimum. Then, starting from the chassis and going up, create a 442 version of a wagon. The 455 has to be a part of it, but use a 700R4 and then drop the suspension a couple of inches. Bag it, if youi like, but it isn't necessary in my book. The interior could all be 442-style....buckets, console, etc. Go with some aftermarket rollers, typical of the era, like some 16-inch Torque Thrust wheels from AR.
Man, couldn't Jay Leno have fun with one of these....y'all did see his '66 Toronado, didn't you?

Re: The oldest kid says "HE!! NO"
This 442 styled Vista cruiser could have potential, but I am thinking it it will not have the cool factor of Leno's car. How many people do you know that GM will throw them the keys to a complete Vette so it can be robbed of it's heartbeat (and every other drivetrain piece). I say build both the Vista will be like being in high school again and the truck w/455 will be different.
