What causes water to come out of tailpipe?
I used to have water coming out of both of my tailpipes. Now it just comes out of driver side pipe. What causes this?

Condensation mostly but a bad head gasket could also do it.

The pipes sweat where they get heated up and cooled all the time. It can't be anything from the engine, it would be evaporated by the heat of the engine.

well, I just had my heads replaced w/ new gaskets and all. So it must have cured the passenger side. It comes out when the engine is on. It doesn't get evaporated.

Condonsation collects in the rear part of the exhaust, where it isn't hot from the engine. The exhaust flow pushes it out of the exhaust pipe. I was just saying, it couldn't be some kind of coolant or other fluid from the engine dripping out of the tailpipe at the rear of the truck because originating that close to the engine would force it to evaporate into a smoke.

If it's just a little bit of water, that's good. A product of complete combustion is water. That's why there is a little hole stamped into the bottom of some mufflers. At least that's wht they tought me at school.

But I heard (dont know for sure) that if your tail pipe vomits a lot of water at a time then that means you have a cracked cylinder head. My friend drives his ricer like crap, its a standard car that he redlines all the time, i noticed he carries bottled water in his trunk because his car "vomits" a lot. I would think that it makes sense.

Should just be condensation....I'm puzzled about why one side quit though. I've run true duals for years and had 'em both spittin' water the whole time. Racedvl is right about the hole in the muffler it is to eliminate condensation, also good exhaust guys will put chrome tips on so they are slightly downhill because if the chrome tip is wider than the exhaust before it the expansion will cause the air to cool and condense further which will leave water to rot out your chrome tips
