Unfortunately it looks better than it is. The cab has rust around the windshield, the passenger floor is gone and both rockers and corners are crap. Here are my plans.
Late model sport side bed with roll pan. Different cab with all new rubber, dash pad, doors, latches, carpet, guage cluster, glass. Gas tank under the bed. 2" front and 4" rear drop springs w/ new shocks. Posi rear end using either the PosiTrax or Eaton guts. Black Cherry Paint with clear coat. It currently has a new 350/350 crate engine with a new 350TH tranny and a 100HP shot of NOS. It will look similar to the truck below with my personal mods.

How sad! To have such a perfect example of a classic, and instead of fixing it, you want to do a total makeover? I know it's your truck, but if it was me, I'd fix this one up, and find another cab and frame for the custom truck. Not tryin' to tell you what to do, just giving you something to think about.

That's the thing. If this truck was in better shape and had the original motor and trans when I got it I would take it back original.

It sure is great to start with something that is all there. Looks like a great truck to begin with. Good luck.

If the cab has bad windshield rot like you say, i would't hesitate to customize it. Replacing the cab looses alot of the originality, so why not go all the way? Good luck on the rodsteration, and get some pics when your done .
