Bucket seat questions

Hi,
Anyone know the difference between 69-72 & '73 blazer buckets as far as: Are the mounting brackets the same?
Will 71/72 seat covers fit the '73 buckets?
Thanks

Re: Bucket seat questions

I don't believe they are the same size, not positive, and the brackets are
close to the same, passenger is a lil different I think, but don't quote me.

Re: Bucket seat questions

From my experience: Am using seats/rails out of a '74 in my '71 Jimmy.

Driver side seat rails will not line up with the factory holes, width OK, it's the length thats off. 69-72 seat rails will not fit under the '74 seat. At least the 69-72 rails I have, they may be from the utility seats rather than sport buckets but not sure if there is a difference bt the two.

Passenger seat works fine with the '74 brackets. Will also fit the 69-72 brackets. Brackets, meaning you are able to lift seat to allow for rear entry, just like stock.

Don't know about 69-72 seat covers fitting the '73-75 seats. Just by looking at them, I think possibly. If I ever get to the point of seat upholstery, I was thinking of doing just that. Right now am just using cheap (er, inexpensive) seat covers.

Re: Bucket seat questions

The 73+ seats look the same but in fact, are not. The aftermarket seat covers for the 69-72 chev truck or blazer buckets do not fit on the 73 & up seats correctly. The difference is in the actual frame of the seats. The distance between the top of the seat cushion and the bottom of the seat frame is about an inch or so shorter on the 73+ seats. The seat mounts are completely different and are not interchangeable without some fabricating.
