67-68 and 69-72 hoods

Will a hood from a 67-68 fit a 69-72?

Welcome to the board and Merry Christmas. My understanding is that they will not swap without some modifications.I have never tried it though.

67-68 hoods will not fit without some metal reworking....

Re: 67-68 and 69-72 hoods

A friend of mine is selling a cowl hood. He tells me it will fit 67-72 trucks. I told him they are not interchangeable.

I dont have my truck anymore, I just wanted to make sure.

Re: 67-68 and 69-72 hoods

I'm running a 67 Chevy hood with a GMC grill. The hood will bolt up but will not close unless you switch the latch to 67-68. Also the stock grill will not work. The front of the hood sits lower relative to the grill and the leading edge of the fender body lines are different.
