Lowering the rear with coils- track bar?
I am planning to drop the rear of my 70' with either 4" or 5" coils. How much will this shift the rear of my truck?. I'm assuming the 5" will shift it to where I need a track bar. Correct?

Over 5" will require adjusting the length of the track bar which can be accomplished different ways. Two of those ways are cutting the stock bar to the desired length required to center the rear @ the new lowered ride height or spending the money for an adjustable bar.
The adjustable bar is easier & modifying the stock bar is less money. Which do you have more of: time or money?

70c10, heres a picture of the rear of my '69c/10 with 6" springs and an adjustable super track bar from ECE. the longer bar greatly reduces side to side movement during suspension travel.

After reading this again, Scoti says "over" 5" needs one and mike nutt has a 6" drop. Is it possible 5" may work without the adjustable bar?.

going 5 your definately going to have the rear shifted to one side screwing up all the suspension geometry.

The more you lower it, the more the rear shifts over to the pass side.
I know you can get away w/a 5" drop w/o an adjustable bar (or longer, super track bar) because my buddy was too cheap to buy one when we did his 65. Whether it works or not on your combo is directly related to how wide the wheel/tire combo is & what kind of backspacing you have. To make sure the tires won't rub, use an adjustable bar.
