was there ever a such thing of 2wd c10 with 6 lug and front discs cause im having a hard time trying to find them. i got a set of 5 lug discs and brake components in my basement but im looking for 6 lug ones. was there a such thing? i want to buy silverado ss wheels and there 6 lug but i still wanna have discs in the front. thanks, later...

Not from the factory, all disc trucks are five lug. There are aftermarket companies that sell six lug rotors though.

All 6-lug trucks, through the '70 models, had drum brakes. GM introduced the 12-inch disc brakes in the front, as well as changed to 5 on 5-inch bolt pattern, in '71.

The 4WD trucks retained the 6-lug bolt pattern and went to discs in '71, also.

But, to answer your question, if you want 6-lug rotors, you'll have to visit the aftermarket, like a bunch of us already have. Early Classic Enterprises, McGaughey's, and others, have the conversion set ups, but you have to change spindles, in order to convert to discs. You can change the front crossmember, from a '73 for instance, and convert to the 5-lug and discs. This is purported to be a bolt-in conversion and has been done by many.

If your truck is a '70-model, you can swap axles and convert to 5-lug on the rear. I believe that '70-73 axles are the same length. Maybe '74 axles, too. I understand that the rear axle ass'y was widened in '75, and those axles are not a swap-out for the '70's. There are lots of people on the board who can help answer these and many other questions that may be burning at your innards!!

i'm not sure there are any out there, but look into 5to 6 lug wheel adapters.i changed my front drums to disc and then had the rear axles welded and redrilled for 5 lug pattern.

Some one was saying something about late model 6 lug rotors working. I don't know the details, but it's been done.
