Removing ignition?
I've removed everything from the dash/interior of my truck in preparation for painting, but I can't seem to get the igniton switch out of the dash. I tried turning that housing it fits in with a flatblade screwdriver, and that loosened it but it doesn't want to take it right out. What am I missing? Thanks!

Re: Removing ignition?
If you have not removed the lock cylinder, the bezel will not come all the way off. (To remove the lock cylinder, turn the ignition switch to the left, insert wire into small hole to release cylinder and turn further left. The cylinder can then be removed).
The bezel can be removed once the lock cylinder is out. Jim |

Re: Removing ignition?
OK, so I stick the key in, turn the ignition to where accessory power would normally be on the left, stick a wire in that little hole in the front on the edge of the cylinder, turn the key further left and pull it out? I'll have to try that. The little hole is the one on the front correct?

Re: Removing ignition?
Yep. I ended up using the smallest precision screwdriver I had in the hole (it was stiffer than a wire)...you know....the eye-glasses type of screwdriver.

Re: Removing ignition?
Drill bit!!!! If you don't have a key, I think you are pretty much screwed.
Use the bezel tool (for removing the ring) and just unscrew it....it will snap the face off the cylinder....or at least mine did.

Re: Removing ignition?
Got it out! Found a scrap of wire on the floor of the truck that worked great. Thanks everyone!
