Re: Test picture of my 78 Bonanza

Thanks guys for the compliments . Bonanza is the trim level package . Above the Bonanza is the Cheyenne and then the Silverado . N2TRUX's is a Cheyenne and I wish this was one . I actually like the Cheyenne better than the Silverado because of the lack of door pull straps ant the tailgate trim but I would have taken either . Also , yes it was always black and that is the original paint and interior . It was a hubcap truck and the P/O added the Rallys . The truck has 36,300 miles now and was always garage kept . The door panels , seat belts , dash ,etc are original and not redyed . I was amazed by the interior . It does have a few chips and a couple door dings that do not show up in the pics but the paint is very nice for it being original . All weather strips and seals are nice and appear original . The windshield has no cracks at all and has what appears to be the original inspection sticker dated May , 23 ,1978 . I will post a few more pics of the truck . Frank

Re: Test picture of my 78 Bonanza

Daaaang Frank that is nice. Your pics look much better than the previous pics. That is in amazing condition.

It looks like you have tilt and a/c so you have some nice options. Anything else you might want can be added.

What you going to do besides enjoy it?

Re: Test picture of my 78 Bonanza

N2 ,
I do not plan to change it much ,if any . I am going to add power brakes since it has manual brakes . Thats kind of weird but it stops fine . I may detail the engine compartment since it is a little weathered . It looks better in the pics than in person because that is the nature of pictures . It has factory paint which everyone knows isnt show quality but I plan on leaving it since it is only original once . The interior is real nice . I bought it and told my wife I would attempt to make a profit on it . That is how I was able to get her to let me spend the money and the shipping costs , etc . I will probably run it on ebay again in late Jan but will price it out of reach . It will only cost about $45 and I wont be asked about it again . After that it will be just a nice stable mate for my 77 Bonanza that is optioned the same way except it has Power brakes . One of these days the 77 will be a nice truck . Frank

N2TRUX, Ilike the new avatar .

Re: Test picture of my 78 Bonanza

Good answer Frank. I could lie to you and tell that's exactly what I would do, but we know better. I do think gathering pieces to upgrade the brakes is a good idea. You can never have enough brakes.

Thanks for the avatar compliment...

N2trux , can we get a larger shot of that avatar or is it already on the forum somewhere ? Staring at that little picture trying to pick out the details is giving me a headache . Frank

WOW Frank, that looks fantastic! I too, would only add the factory power brakes and keep the rest original. You've got a really nice list of rides . Later, David

Re: Test picture of my 78 Bonanza

David , Thanks for the compliment . Were you able to acquire the RS/SS from your uncle(?) that you showed me the pictures of . I dont remember when it was that I met you in Dallas with the tires ,but I do remember the pictures . Your truck is coming along really nice since I remember that the pics you had then showed it with the cab off . I read in one of your post the other day that you like to do thing nice the first time . It shows in the pictures I have been seeing of your truck lately . Frank

Thanks Frank, I haven't got my old Camaro back yet. My uncle bought it new, I got it in 1990 and I sold it to a Camaro lover friend of mine in 2001. He will not sell to anyone but me, without my consent. I really don't have a place to put it or the money right now, but I will get it back. I did buy a 1977 Pontiac Can Am recently, and will be my daily driver after a new engine . Still haven't done to much to my truck, it's driveable now, but will have to put on all those new parts ($$$$) I've bought for it. You've got a nice collection of autos going . Good luck, David

Nice truck Frank. Great to see another Bonanza still on the road. I wish mine looked half as good as that.

Re: Test picture of my 78 Bonanza

bigarmzz,
I bought it off of Ebay . I think he could have done much better with better pictures and the removal of the running boards it had . I removed them . The tires are now white lettered which adds a little detail to a stock truck . Here is the link to the auction .

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...RK%3AMEWN%3AIT

I had him send me more pics and thought I was getting a good deal . I was very happy when we backed it off the transport . Frank

That is really sharp, Frank. If the power brakes off a 90 Sub will work, come down to Austin and pick it up. I have alot of door trim for you sitting in my garage, too.

Definitely one of the cleanest non restored trucks I have seen in a while. Seems like a great price for such a rare find too. Better than buying a truck and having to start redoing everything immediately lol.

That thing is no doubt sweet. Good idea removing the running boards , that made it look a whole lot better.
