"Special Paint" code
I have a 1970 CST/10, & am in the process of trying to authenticate all of the RPO's, etc.
The truck is black/gold two tone. I don't know how to "decode" the paint code that I find on the build sheet decal. The only indication of paint is "1001MK Special Paint". How would I read this, & does it decode to a black/gold two tone? Thanks in advance.

If it had special paint I don't know if chevy kept good enough records to decode it. Special paint is well documented on collectable chevy cars. It basicly meant that ethier the truck was sold to a VIP that had enough pull to have it delivered in a non stock color or it was part of a fleet sale. Some of the fleet sales were even delivered in primer so the company could paint it them selves. Good Luck.
