Re: Caddy brake help!!!!!

Not sure the bolt patterns are the same.

Thought it was independent rear suspension.

I know you can weld though:

brackets can be found at www.loufegersracing.com they're 12.00 each if your caddy ones don't work.

Rotors can be sourced from a 94-96 Impala with the 9C1 option disk brakes new from autozone if your caddy ones don't work.

Run the caddy caliper for the ebrake function. Be sure to use it regularly or it will suck.

Re: Caddy brake help!!!!!

I'm not sure on the 85's, I know 76-78 Calipers work and they have an e-brake. But the rest will not work you will need custom caliper brackets and custom (as in redrilled) rotors. There is also a link somewhere around here to a place that makes the e-brake cable.

Re: Caddy brake help!!!!!

Thanks so much for the info. I'm leaning more to Caprice 9C1 setup. I saw the Caddy in a junkyard and thought it might be feasible. I think the Caprice would be a better choice, although I might have to buy all new stuff. Once again, thanks for the help!!!!

The only issue is getting the backing plate that the caliper bracket bolts to. It houses the ebrake. It's also not made by GM anymore.

Re: Caddy brake help!!!!!

If I found the Caprice in a junkyard, could I just pull the backing plate off it as well?

Re: Caddy brake help!!!!!

I hear about guys using rear brakes from a Ford Explorer. the parking brake is a drum set-up inside the rotor with the cable running through the backing plate. I think you would have to re-drill the rotors for our bolt pattern though. just an idea
