bent frame .........what options?
I was stripping a 65 swb that i was going to use the frame and drive train under a really clean 65 LWB Big window.
Got the front end off today and was looking at the frame horns. Drivers side is straight , passengers has a kink right behind the front cross member. I have 2 67-72 swb parts trucks, went looking and they look very close but the front frame horns are different. Question , can I use a 67-72 frame under the 65 without changing cab and core support mounts? And what do I do about the front bumper. I tried to find a 63-66 swb forever before i found this one. 67-72 seem to be pretty easy to find. Thanks, Steve |

Re: bent frame .........what options?
Do you have any pics of the frame?
Someone needs to confirm but I thought I read on here somewhere that the frames from 63? to 72 for trucks and blazers were the same, but don't quote me on that one.

Re: bent frame .........what options?
I measured crosswise in a couple of different places and it is off over 1 1/2...........I had one frame straighten a while back and it twisted again in the same place. I am kind of hard on trucks.
Thanks, Steve |

Re: bent frame .........what options?
Everything changed in 67. Core support and everything is different. I know where there are some 63-66 frames, but Colorado is a long way from NC. You might try www.stovebolt.com and look in the for sale and wanted forums.

I was wondering the same thing because I have a 67' 4x4 that I have modifyed the frame on,{i won't elabrate} and may want to return it to a classic some day.The deal is I have a 67' 4x4 frame found but it's bent some. Is it an easy fix for a frame shop?
