do your windows seem slow? I just replaced my driver side motor and it seems to slow down mid way going both up and down. The passenger side does also but I thought this was because it was getting ready to need a new motor as well. I really have nothing to compare it to cause this is the first truck I've had with power. May be switching it to manual.

I used Penetrating oil on the main pivot point that the motor turns, and greased up the tracks. Made a HUGE difference

Yes typicaly they are pretty slow. making sure your pivots are well lubed and your channels are in good condition helps also. to my knowledge no one has found a great solution to the problem but corect me if im wrong.

Thats just the way they are!

Mine are not to bad iv'e seen solwer ones.

Try some armor all or silicone spray on the window felt that the window rides up and down in. It helped on my 85 after I put in new motors.

Use silicone spray lubricant on the window felt, OR get new felts for the doors. They have a serious tendency to dry out and then get full of dirt and cause dragging.

If the wires in the door jam boot are broken with only a few strands left it will make them slow as well because the electricity does'nt have enough flow to power the window motor Ihad this happen on my 4x4.

Tried the armor all, it helped a little. I'll have to check the wires.

I wonder if upgrading the wiring and throwing in a relay at each door would help the power windows...

I was thinking along those same lines. In the summer I might try this, I also need to replace my switches. So instead of using the stock switches I might try and steal ones off of another vehicle that still look “stockish” but have a better mechanism and add a relay. If a relay was used you wouldn’t have to worry about resistance through the switch. Worth a try!

I have heard that if you change the plastic gears it can go faster. Not sure if it means go larger or go smaller. Try www.autoloc.com, they sell gears.

I am putting power in this spring. I am going to put the door jam conectors on each side to eliminate wires. That should help.

I'm not sure about the upgrade on the gears, that would be great if it exists. The door jamb connectors will have a setback to them also. They will only work if the door is closed and the contacts on them can get burned or dirty and will need a fair amount of maintenance to ensure they contact right.
